UPDATE 28TH OF OCTOBER 2011

Stream Of Passion takes us back one year and performed a fantastic gig at the Spirit of 66 in Verviers in Belgium at the end of 2010. In March of 2011 Megadeth trashed Vorst Nationaal together with Slayer, two great bands from The Big Four. Only two days later Trans Siberian Orchestra performed a splendid set in the Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen. In June Whitesnake visited the Graspop Metal Meeting and still rocked like only Coverdale knows how. The odd one is without a doubt Chris De Burgh, yes the guy who got world famous with Lady In Red, taking the audience at the casino Kursaal Oostende back in time. Although this Irish fellow has nothing to do with hard rock, he’s well worth checking out!

And what to expect next week? Rockemotions will be posting new reviews for Fastway, Knight Area, Orphaned Land, Grand Design, Grand Illusion, Glyder and Airbag. Alice Cooper will be raising hell at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels and Mike Tramp & Rock ’n Roll Cirkuz is playing an intimate gig at The Rock Temple in Holland. Blues giant Robben Ford is set to play the Kursaal Limbourg next Sunday.

There are also a lot of old and new reviews posted in the News Review section. Rockemotions will present a more efficient way to browse the new releases starting  next week.

UPDATE 30TH OF OCTOBER 2011

In On The Road a new section by the name Random Road has been added. This section contains some pictures from the past. You can browse through shots from REO Speedwagon, Journey, Whitesnake and Kiss at the Arrow Rock festival in 2008 or view Tesla and Yngwie Malmsteen at the Graspop Metal Meeting that same year. Furthermore you can click on slides from Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Europe and ZZ Top at Bospop one year or Chickenfoot the next year. Also included are clicks from Anthrax, Lacuna Coil or Mötley Crüe at Sonisphere 2010. Sweden Rock is present with photos from several years including Gotthard, Triumph, Lita Ford and many others.

UPDATE 1ST OF NOVEMBER 2011

On The Road 2009 has been added in the On The Road menu. Lee Ritenour is featured in November 2009 but there is still more to come in the near future. In On The Road 2010 the Frostrock Festival and Molly Hatchet in the Spirit of 66 are featured next to Kingfisher Sky and Stream Of Passion.

New pictures of the recent Keel performance at De Pit in Terneuzen en shots from 10CC, Uriah Heep and Pat McManus at Fiesta City have found their rightfull place. Also worth checking out is the rehearsal of Roadside Surgery. You can also read an interview with Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine by Jeff Repell for Roadrunner in the News Interview section.

UPDATE 2ND OF NOVEMBER 2011

New pictures from the Firewind gig at the Boerderij have been added in On The Road September 2010. Some interesting shots from Wim Roelants Masterclass at Trix have been added in On The Road February 2010. We have expanded the list with links to bands as well. If you feel your favourite band should be included, don’t hesitate and contact RockEmotions through the contact form.

There is a reasonable demand for a newsletter or mailinglist. We have to disappoint you as there is none of those two at the moment. We will keep it under consideration!

UPDATE 2ND OF NOVEMBER 2011

Alice Cooper played the Ancienne Belgique and some pictures are added in the On The Road 2011 November 2011 gallery. Be sure to check out all of the upcoming events at The Rock Temple in Kerkrade, Holland. The link for this venue is located in Links Venues. You can also see what will be going on there in the next months on the homepage. On the 4th of November Mike Tramp will be hitting the Temple Stage.

UPDATE 4TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

New pictures from some recent and less recent gigs are in the right place now. Velorock took place on the 3rd of September 2011 and features Orphaned Land en top of the bill Girlschool. Glenn Hughes at the Spirit of 66 on the 16th of October and Freak Kitchen at the Underworld in London on the 12th of November are in there as well.

UPDATE 5TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

Yesterday Mike Tramp and his Rock ‘N’ Roll Circuz played The Rock Temple in Kerkrade and rocked the place for nearly two hours. Here you see the former White Lion frontman still rocking his brains out. Tomorrow the Robben Ford Trio is scheduled to play their gig at the Kursaal in Limbourg organised by the Spirit of 66. You can expect the photo report on Monday.

UPDATE 6TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

Lou Reed and Metallica’s Lulu review extravaganza has been moved from the homepage to the cd review section. Some golden oldies shows from 2010 in the form of Y&T at the Bibelot and Vanden Plas at the Spirit of 66 have been addded. We will also be informing you soon on all major festivals for the year 2012.

UPDATE 7TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

The Robben Ford Trio played a fantastic gig at the Kursaal Limbourg yesterday. Well known for his bluesy and jazzy modern rocksongs the trio performed a selection of well chosen tracks for this tour. In the sections Next Events December you can find all information regarding the Muziekbeurs in Leffinge on the 4th of December 2011, organised by Muziekateljee.

UPDATE 9TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

Crimes Of Passion and Earthmover supported Mike Tramp and his Rock ‘N’ Roll Circuz at The Rock Temple on the 4th of November 2011. Just click that mouse and scroll down. You are able to see the result of those performances in On The Road 2011 November 2011.

UPDATE 12TH OF NOVEMBER

Just before the Sweden Rock Festival Judas Priest played a sold out show in the 013 in Tilburg Holland. This venue only holds only 2500 people and it’s a real treat to see a band like these old rockers perform in such a venue. Here are some pictures from that gig.

UPDATE 10TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

There are some new additions in the category of support acts. On the 14th of September 2011 Gus G., guitarplayer for madman and prince of darkness Ozzy Osbourne, played a gig at The Boerderij in Zoetermeer with his own Firewind. They were supported by Dutch and upcoming band Vanderbuyst and Wolf. About one week later Keel stopped by De Pit in Terneuzen and the audience there was warmed up by the likes of Lick and Kabuki. You can see the shots for Firewind supports here and for Keel’s right here or you can search through the menu in On The Road 2011 September 2011.

On top of that you can also read new reviews about some interesting and upcoming releases. First up there’s Lou Reed and Metallica with their controversial album Lulu (the Durch version). Fast Eddie Clarke is back with Fastway and Eat Dog Eat is the first album with the former Motörhead guitarplayer in over twenty years. Glyder has a new album out as well as Grand Design, Grand Illusion and Airbag.

More pictures and reviews coming up real soon!

UPDATE 15TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

On Sunday the 13th of November the Jason Becker’s Not Dead Yet Fest took place at the Patronaat in Haarlem Holland. Lots of Dutch and international artists paid a tribute to Jason Becker, a former David Lee Roth guitar player (amongst others) who is suffering from ALS. Timo Somers, Marcel Coenen, Joop Wolters, Barend Courbois, Andy James, Stéphan Forté, Daniele Gottardo, Marco Sfogli, Atma Anur, Kiko Loureiro, Mattias IA Eklundh, Michael Lee Firkins, Stuart Hamm and Guthrie Govan played their asses off to honour Jason. The tribute started at 19h30 and lasted until 1h30!!!

Timo Somers is well known for his work with dutch band Vengeance and is the son of Jan Somers who died some time ago. He is currently working with Delain on their forthcoming album. Marcel Coenen plays guitar for Stormrider, Sun Caged and a number of tribute bands. Barend Courbois doesn’t need any introduction we believe and Joop Wolters is best known for his work with international artists. Andy James from Sacred Mother Tongue performed as well as Stéphan Forté from Adagio. Daniele Gottardo played together with Forté and showcased his own songs. Marco Sfogli and Kiko Loureiro did their thing while Mattias IA Eklundh from Freak Kitchen teamed up with the famous Stu Hamm on bass. So did slide master Michael Lee Firkins and guitar wizard Guthrie Govan. A big thank you goes out to drummer Atma Anur (Jason Becker, Tony Macalpine, Cacaphony, Greg Howe,…) who played for like five hours.

Pictures will be included in the On The Road 2011 gallery in a short while. Approval from the Jason Becker’s Not Dead Yet Fest was requested and granted before publication. So if you bare with us, you will be able to watch what went on during the Fest.

What to expect in the near future? Photo reports will be posted for the Peter Frampton gig at the Elisabethzaal in Antwerp on the 18th, Yes at the Ancienne Belgique on the 20th and Steve Lukather at the Kursaal Limbourg on the 22nd of November 2011.

UPDATE 21ST OF NOVEMBER 2011

Progrockers Yes played a two and a half hour set last Sunday at a nearly sold out Ancienne Belgique. The somewhat older audience enjoyed pearls from the past as well as some new songs from their latest studio release Fly From Here. New frontman Benoît David, who’s Canadian by the way, is no Jon Anderson but is without a doubt the most suitable replacement. Here you can see what went on at the Ancienne Belgique.

UPDATE 22ND OF NOVEMBER 2011

Former and current Toto guitarist Steve Lukather welcomed his fans at The Spirit of 66 instead of the Kursaal Limbourg in support of his latest solo release. He played a one hour forty minute set which included the odd Toto hit, stuff from his latest album, a song tribute to Jeff and George and the odd track from the past. Here you can see the guitarman extraordinaire in action and still doing what he does best!

UPDATE 2ND OF DECEMBER 2011

30 Seconds To Mars, fronted by the actor Jared Leto, played the Lotto Arena in Antwerpen a few days ago. The place was filled up with mostly young girls and their fathers to witness the band doing what they do best. Reactions from the audience learned us that most women only come to see the sexy actor and the music comes second. We couldn’t believe our ears and neither could we when 30 Seconds To Mars management didn’t allow any media in the frontstage photopit. All photographers and television media were gathered together on a stand even behind the soundsystem. We apologize for the distant shots but hope you enjoy the pictures.

UPDATE 29TH OF NOVEMBER 2011

Last weekend Scorpions performed in a sold out Vorst Nationaal in Brussels. The old Scorps are here to support their latest album and to say goodbye to all fans around the world. On Sunday Kiss drummer Eric Singer attented the Kiss Expo at the Atak in Enschede Holland. Fans got the opportunity to ask their questions and VIP’s got their picture taken with one of the best drummers in the world. That same Sunday Sinner played an intimate gig at The Rock Temple in Kerkrade. Matt Sinner is also known playing bass for Primal Fear. Guitarplayer for his band is his soulmate from that same band. Alex Beyrodt is now a member of Sinner. To make matters complete Matt Sinner is playing bass in Beyrodt’s Voodoo Circle and returning the favour for his blood brother. Voodoo Circle is supporting Sinner so everybody’s like family aren’t they?

UPDATE 7TH OF DECEMBER 2011

Last Saturday Whitesnake played the Muziekcentrum in Enschede Holland. Adrian ‘Adje’ Vandenberg was announced as special guest for this show. The place was completely sold out. Coverdale and his boys played a two hour steaming set. They got the place rocking but it sad to see Coverdale’s voice letting go as the set goes by. He still got it but the sixty year old frontman seems to loose that famous voice as minutes go by. Still Whitesnake rocked and got the place on fire.
